Re:Egg laying Cockateil - 2007/06/02 17:18
I'm new at this and am confused.......is calcium the answer? We have always offered our cockateil a cutter bone and hi-calicum grit.
Yesterday at lunch my cockateil was fine, when I came home last night, there was an egg laying in the bottom of its cage. I have the same question.....Is this normal, is she lacking something, so do I remove the egg, leave it there? It is not fertile as we only have one cockateil (our 2 parakeets have a seperate cage). We have had her for just over a year now, so why did this happen? Will it happen again? We had no idea the sex of the bird and called him Chester...boy were we surprised to see that egg last night.
