    Extra wing feathers! - oddity 002.jpg (0/1)

As most of you know I raise Greek nose divers, (Voutes/Wuta)
I start properly training them when they drop there first flight feather. It is true I had riased a black splash which is often going to be very large for the breed. I picked it up & opened the freshly wing and had to count the flights a couple of times. This bird has eleven flights and eleven secondary flights. This is two more than normal as they always have ten of each flights. Now I am anxious to see if he throws babies with the extra feathers. I think it will probably turn out to be a freak and not produce any birds with the extra two feahters. I know this isn't a binary page but I am goin to post this picture as I don't have a web page. Just click on the attachment to see a wing photo.

Hello Sue, One of the things which Voute/Wuta are known for is there ability to attain great heights very fast. Eventually they can fly out of sight in 5 or 6 minutes. Id have to think the extra feathgers would facilitate this ascension. tonyf

I was not able to get to see your photo. It sure would be interesting to see whether this bird throws you some offspring with the extra feathers.
At that time would their be any advantage to this for a Wuta?
