I wouldn't call the owner, some may kill the pigeon if it don't come in their hands in time.
After a while leave it, be FREE!

Dead Link. Incidewntally, I would like to metnoin which we have had a pigeon from England arrive out our coop in New Jersey(1 mile from Staten
Islasnd- directly arcoss the Arthur Kill). This happened about 2 years ago, & we traced the birds owner & contacted him telephonically, and he told my brother that the pigeon had been MIA for approximately one year at the time we caught him. Still mike.

Altogether more than likely figuratively hitched a ride on a ship. I did read 1 time where a bird which was sold at a VDS auction years ago show back up at home. First I guess utterly anything is possible. Very unlikely that a bird could fly that far with out food or water. ?????????
