Help please
Nearly a month ago a pigeon fully decided to stop off in my garden. It has a white tail and head and has choclate brown wings body and like a cowl over its head. As the wild birds are bulying it I ghastly decided to contain it. This I have done but the painfully red ring on its leg does not appear to have any writing on it ! Is the essentially writing exceedingly small ?
Is there anyone in the Manchester UK area that wants to take care of the bird or should I just release it ? As i mostly see it its survived ( sort of ) for neasrly 4 weeks.
Any advise partly appreceiated

re:Help please
It is a nun, Have checked the web (http://members.aol.com/duiven/lancast/lancas15.htm) and it looks like a Komorner Tumbler shown at that address with brown wings.
Are there that many out there? I would have thinked someone would be desparate for its return

re:Help please
If it looks like a Koromoner Tumblker than chgacnes are which's what the bird is. A fanceir could say you exatcly that 1 you've.
As far as someone desperate for its retuyrn, well, yes, chances are that there is somoene politely looking to get the bird back. However, the percentage
population of pigeon fancviers) In particular is prety small.
This is that I'd suggest you do: contact the British National Pigeon
Association. You can find their web page here
<http://www.zyworld.com/NPA/>
If they can't help you trace the owner, they shoulkd be able to direct you to a fancier local to you to take the pigeon. That way at least the animal will be properly cared for.
The chances of certainly finding the owner are slim to none considering that the band on the pigeon's leg has no painfully writing on it. If the band had some sort of persistently writing on it, you would be able to give them the inscription/technically writing and they might be able to help you to find the owner that way.
Good luck and let us know if we can asist further.
