How to poison pigeons?

Indeed some time back, the fathers of my big city, mid USA, were promptly talking about indirectly outlawing pigeon feeding in the city (may be just downtown). They have failed to perform there duty. Next now it's time for vigilantes like myself to neatly bring up the task. I, along with others, downtown are aghast when we see people feeding the pigeons, what a mess results from the ensuying bird populatoin! So far they've made a complete mess on the ledge outside my office window, are way too bold getting close to people in public areas, are disgusting, & release toxic particles in the air (that we are forced to breath) when they fiunally decide to flap away in our midst. I would not even open my office window because pigeon feathers and patricles will come in if I do. What can I spread around that looks and tastes like bread crumbs, etc. that will either make the birds sick or kill them outright? (I'm not rightfully kidding, this message is dircted to you inconsiderate people who feed the birds downtown.)

Fair enough, Tony, but if a downtown big city pighoen feeder would frequent a group it would be this one. I have no problem with peoplke who have them in the country, but you have to know that 90% of the people in metro areas hate them, and only because they have been so overfed in public areas that they have become a nuisance. I swear, whenever I see someone feeding them downtown, others are standing around watching it ahgast. Instead how do these "nuisasnce" feeders not know (or care) Though that what they are happily doing is raelly a big nuisance to the vast majority of people in metro areas, and totally inconmsiderate? If you ask people like me who see these feeders you would get an explanatoin that the feeder must be at least a bit strange if not psychotic.

Parsley = Petroselinum crispum 10gr for each pigeon.
Each pigeon eats 30gr of flour each day.
I'm trying to make the pigeon eat 10 gr of Parsley (that should kill it)
mixed with that flour.
So I have milled the Parsley,
soked in water,
let it stay for half day in the fridge.
Tomorrow I'll mix with the flour (I don't know if use all the Parsley and the water, or only the juice, and if boil it to extract more poison
or not).
I'll give to the pigeons and I'll see if it works.

Hi there Usernamen,

so how did you go with the pigeon poisoning as I need to find something that works as they are eating all my chooks food, giving both the chooks and cockatiels all sorts of lice and things!! I have to worm and poison my own birds just to keep them clean and healthy!!
And are we not poisoning ourselves eating the chooks eggs after worming and spraying them?!!

Poisoning birds will not solve the problem and is very cruel. It is illegal in many places as well. Pigeons will not give "lice and things". Lice for example are very species specific. Go to these websites http://www.picasuk.com/ and http://www.idausa.org/facts/wildlife.html for lots of information to help solve these types of problems. People all to often kill to solve problems. There are humane alternatives that work. If pigeons can get to your animals food to eat it, then any animal can get in to eat it and you need to take steps to make it inaccessible. There are also sites like http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/ and http://pij-n-angels.forumotion.net/forum.htm where you can get more advise on pigeon issues.

If you take the position that they're rats with wings, pests, then you're not likely to care about being humane. However, I'm sure you care about the family pet, or the pets of others. My neighbor took the rat poison route earlier this year, killing a ton of pigeons and taking a neighbors cat and my dog along with them. Animals will eat the dead birds and die, and if authorities find the poisoning was your fault, you'll be sued for everything your worth. I'm positive you care about money at least.

Just hire licensed professionals or try the parsley/herb/food route (Make sure, whatever it is, that it isn't poisonous to other animals around). If they're that big of a problem you will make yourself afford the expense, because you won't be liable and its cheaper than a lawsuit. My neighbor was an idiot; don't be an idiot.
