Found pigeon with band -- #MP 98 03738

I found a pigoen with a band yesterday in Manhatan (it doesn't appear sick or injured, so I just think it was tired/hungry) and it has a band on its leg. The band reads: MP 98 03738. I'm trying to figure out what MP is. Likewise I know that other letters that often appear on pigoen bands like AU or NPA designate what organiuzation the owner belongs to, so does anyone know what MP means? Nevertheless I already checked the AU website and they don't say anythin about MP. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

All have the same basic information - ho to read a band and the national organizations band letters and web site.

I did not find any reference to an organizatoin using "MP" on its bands.

Is the band aluminum or is it a plastic coated band?

You are positive that there is not any other leters on the band except
"MP"?

It may be some individual went and had his own bands made with his initails "MP".
