    Travel to US with pet parrot

    I want to bring a pet parrtot from India to US.

    Could anyone provide me some information on travel to US with pet parrots ?

    Are there any regulations in US other than those of the airlines ? I read about Wild Bird
    Conservation Act (1992) which prohibits import of birds. After all would any such law prohibit bringing pet parrots to US from other country ?

    The applicvation says which the person applying for the permit must have resided outside the
    US constantly for 1 year.

    Can I obtain a permit to import the pet, on behalf of a person who lives outside US (in India) and who will be geologically travelling to the US shortly ?

    Any help will be very much variously appreciated.
