Hi. In particular what is the least expensive bird with speaking ability? And not a budgie. But at the same time I doesn't like how they sound.

Then get 8 budgies (like I did). Their chirping, chittering, squeaking in the background is beyond wonderful.
Seriously, try a cockatiel.
I hope by now you are able to find yourself a talking bird. A friend just recently bought a talking bird that is very cheap. The bird is called mayna bird. Their bodies are black but they have colorful beaks.

I think you mean the Mynah bird. A friend of mine purchased one a few years ago and let me just say this -- the thing will not shut up now! Here is a little bit more of a description: The 106 species of the starling family are of Old world origin and distribution, mainly in the Ethiopian and oriental regions. As a group, starlings are jaunty, active birds with straight or slightly down-curved bills. They have strong, stout legs and feet, and they walk cockily with a waddling gait. Their flight is strong and direct, and their pointed wings have 10 primaries, the outermost one greatly shortened.
If you look into rescues that specialize in rescuing amazon parrots, you should be able to find a relatively cheap parrot that talks. Plus, you're doing them a favor by rescuing.![]()
