I got a really great hand fed budgie from a lady in Olympia, WA, so don't forget to check Washington breeder listings, too. Some of the local bird clubs might know someone. If you find a budgie breeder, maybe you could talk them into hand feeding one for you.

I just paid $25 for one. Some charge $40. It's worth it if you can take him home the minute he's weaned without getting him exposed to other birds at a wholesaler or shop. A local bird shop might know someone.

I wouldn't want to put a baby bird through shipping. Just going home is traumatic enough. I'd rather drive the darn baby home for a few hours. I know there's a lady in Woodinville, WA hand feeding budgies, so that's a 3 hour drive for you.
