    Acquired 7-10 year old conure

    Not only that i'm greatly inheriting a 7-ten year old conure and am thrilled! I would appreciate any advise on helping him adjust to his new home. Also, if he is a biter, how can I break him of this?

    Congrats! first of all, I suggest that you go REALLY SLOWLY. Parrots need to trust. Yours might refuse food for a day or more. they hate a change in environment, and if they don't eat for 2 days, consult a vet. Make sure that you find an AVIAN vet in your area NOW, and take your conure for a phys. exam asap, so that you can get a good consultation.

    Silent Shawnda to teach a bird not to bite takes showing no emotions when he does. Just firmly and quietly telling him 'no' or words to that extent repeatedly over every time he tries to bite is the 'cure' to let him stop
