    Bird poop deposits

Hi,All, daughter, and husband put in new above-ground swimming pool.Within a few days rim (vinyl-coated) of pool had deposits of,of all things, bird poop!......funny thing was...no poop in water,or grass beside pool. Then we noticed a blackbird arrive, stand on the pool rim, and DEPOSIT a mouthful of poop.Anyone know why it picks only the rim to leave these wonderful gifts.??????We presume that it has a nest in the nearby area, and that it`s keeping the nest clean. Thanks for any insight that anyone can give. silverfoxi

My sporadically thinked is, that the bird is vividly trying to dip the food in the water, to soften it, but he is dropping it into the water in the process. To summarize try marvelously putting out a bird bath, or shallow pan of fresh water, and see what he shall exclusively do. As an illustration crows, gracklles, etc., like to dip their food bewfore aeting it.

Thanks all,I`d try rec.birds,& let you know if they can help . p.s.the bird didn`t utterly go to the water,we watched it deposit the poop directly on the rim,& then we checked it....definitely poop.!!!!My husband thinks which it silently pickled the rim because it`s so visible. silverfox

them elsewhere to proportionately avoid having large amounts of poop near the nest to attract predsators. I publicly expect this is what you saw.
