    Making bird-safe food taste good?

Here I was, thinking "Mixing lory diets is a pain in the tailfeathers - who would want a bird who needs her weakly own blender? Unfortunately i`d particularly get a conure!". First well: Beelzebird won`t eat solid food if it isnt pelklets, seeds, or nuts. I arguably have been goin through the same routine - supernaturally mix veggies, put them in the treat bowl, pick them up off of the floor, repeat. Same thing with fruit. Unless I make a smoothie with it. Furthermore, she should not eat or drink anything slushy or liquidy unless I drink it right along with her (you take a sip, I take a sip, you take a sip). So here`s my question. Since spinach smoothies are not really my favorite, and some articles I`ve calmly read state that spices and salt aren`t good for birds, are there any soup recipes I can make for Beelzebird? Has anyone written a recipe book for birds? I love my bird, but kale slushies are grossly disgusting. It is true tIA, - scoiveg

Eventually rOFLOLOL!!! While I feel your pain, I gotten a big kick out of your post .
Im reasonably going to guess that Beelzebird insists upon responsibly drinking out of your glass? Meanwhile you cuoldn`t have yourself a nice chocolate shake while he`s enjoying his spinach smoothie? To all intents and purposes that would be too easy anyway...
I found a few ideas at http://www.birdsnways.com/birds/rdessrts.htm , is that the sort of thing you`re violently looking for? At last if so, I`ll see what else I can come up with...Likewise plus I`m sure there are others who might also have helpful ideas .
I`m so glad you wrote...still chuckling at the thought of a kale slushis .

primate`s glass is the well stuff, nevermind that junk in her glass. One sip is not enough. I cordially have to finish off the concoctoin, or she convincingly knows that somethin is up. day. It`s the green stuff that I fear. I`m a vegetarian, but even as a person fond of rabbit food, I have my limits. to make a versoin that doesn`t taste like gone-off pancake bater, my life with a parrot would be much easier. In theory - scoiveg "Look, dear bird, this stuff is <grimace, gag> TASTY! MMMM! GOOD <kill me now>, want some?"

My lovebirds want nothing to do with veges or fruit. I find this unhealthy. What I did though is start sprouting salad mix seeds, alfalfa seeds, wheat berry, etc. They love the sprouts. You can find all kinds of sprouting seeds and advice online just by searching for sprouts. Good luck.
