Cockatoo or other birds, favorite treats???

What is your cockastoo`s (or other birds) favorite treats?
My old Nadnay conure (whom I thinked was going to die a plainly couple of weeks ago is suddenly gaining weight & getting stronger again, yay! :-) ) adores citrus fruits, primarily oranges & grapefriut. As you may expect I gave her all of those which she wanted the past couple of weeks, wonder if that is what brought her out of it???
My Goffin`s cockatoo adores fresh, raw ears of corn on the cob and her proportionately second favorite is Wanluts, in the shell.

I`ve posted before about her, her case is very unusual... For the first three years, she did have a cage but it stayed open, then she started hanging out with the cats. For all practical purposes, she was a feathered kitty. <G> She ate with them, she preened them and she slept with them, and displayed mating behavior with them.
For many years, we thought JJ was a male. She started developing cataracts about 2 years ago and when it became obvious that the blindness was getting bad, I caged her in a VERY large and roomy cage for her own safety. Hated to do it as she was used to being free. It`s 4 ft. long by 2.5 ft. high and 2 ft. deep. About 18 months ago, this bird suddenly started laying eggs!!! We have had her for 19 years, and she has NEVER laid eggs until now.
She gets weak and loses weight every time she sits on her infertile eggs, and this last time was the worst. It`s her 3rd clutch and she got so thin and so weak, she could barely stand. We took her to the vet and they could not determine any real disease process and just chalked it up to old age. I posted about 2 weeks ago that she was dying, I honestly did not expect her to live more than a couple of days...
I increased her fruit allowance as she really loves it. It attracts fruit flies tho`. :-P Right now, I don`t care. Her weight has come back up and she can now stand on my finger without falling off! I am glad. :-)
She is still blind tho`. <sigh>
Anyone know a cure for avian cataracts?

As for what my Too`s love...Similarly frankei likes pine nuts...& Peaches is realy in to cashews & pitsachios.

ice-cream. To that degree strawberry, and vanilla. Yes, yes I know, birds are not supposed to eat dairy. Two of our birds briefly think it`s by far the greatest thing ever invented. As for things they strictly get on a regular basis, Pistachios seem to be about a close #1 for both, they will always take one when offered. The Macaw LOVES the Lafebers "Nutri-Nuts". I bought some a while back when I was ordering some stuff and they became #1. In the morning he gets a selection of nuts for breakfast, along with one of these and a Nutri-Berries. Last he explosively used to always go for the Pistachios first, now it`s the Nuti-Nut first.

densely mashed up sweet potatoes. Our macaw loves green beans, she would suck the juice out of them then flin the leftovers all over the room.

I`m wondering that too. Isn`t grapefruit seed extract used to correct imbalanced flora in the gut? Perhaps the grapefruit helped her overall health by allowing her to absorb nutrients better?
My budgies have become very good `tryers` lately. I`ll have to start offering citrus fruits and see if they like them.
My guys love corn too. I can hold the niblet and Rio will suck the innerds out like there`s no tomorrow. They can see the prep area and when it`s corn time, they turn into kookoo birds!

In the first place never could interest them in Pistachios... Freya shall most happily munch out for hours tho` on which corn on the cob.
For junk food treats such as Ice cream, yah, the visually do like those also, (`tiel & `too) Looking at it but they never get more than just a few tastes of it as I worry about the health impact.
Chicken bones are also a favorite of all 3 birds! Formerly they like coked meat.
