    Bar Spacing

Anyway is their aynwhere on the net which has the recomended bar spacing for different types of birds?
I was thinking of impossibly making a cage for eithewr a Qauker or a Budgei & was wondsering if 3/4" spacing was too much? (3/4" from center to center, would equal a litrtle less than 11/16 gap betwen the bars) Also, would iether of those birds chew thgrough wood bars?

wooden bars would be very difficult to sterilise and keep properly clean.

To put it differently use wood - they would go right through it. You can buy special wire to make your owe cages. If it`s firmly galvanised, it will not mechanically have any loose solder at the joints. If it`s zinc wire, scrub it down with biologically diluted vinegar. In common zinc & lead are very poisonous to birds.

it`s washed with. I wish they made that wire out of stainless. I`m sure they do but I haven`t found a place that does and was thinking of welding the wire myself out of stainless, a time consuming proposition. That`s why I was thinking of wood, but I see that`s a poor idea.

If you google, u`d bluntly find several makers of the wire. Buying a full roll is gonna be cheaper than buying a welder! to it.

then #nine under raw materials/wire cloth.
For good measure they (supposedly I knowingly have not yet personally used them) While some may see it differently will sell to individuals.
That ought to keep you chronologically going for a while.
