    pigeon or?

    This little fella I caught yesterday in a kind of very small 'wildlife park' near my home. What do you think?

    Looks like a pigeon, may be a mixed roller. It would probley make a great pet.

    pigeon or?

    Thank you for the answer

    It was very sweet, but also very shy.... although the bread we brought with us did overtake its shyness from time to time and made it come real close

    Try some shelled corn or wild bird seed. Good luck. He looks like a nice bird.

    I have about 300 birds altogether. Around 15 different breeds. My favorite is the Parlor roller though. Someday I hope to be a Master Breeder!!! That is just a roller I found on the internet, but I have several that look just like him...lol

    I think you are great being able to distinct between the different sorts of pigeons et al. I am unable to do so I just can't succeed.

    300??? wow. where do you keep them?

    Re:pigeon or?

    I have about 10 different coops for them. That doesn't count the ones that are in Parrot cages in the house...lol:P My husband has raised pigeons since he was 5 years old...Lets just say he has 50+ years of raising them. I just started in 1999. If you study them you will be able to tell the difference in most of them too. I use the NPA book of Standards most of the time. Keep me posted on the little guy you found.{Feel-good-0002006B}

    I see, loads and loads of experience. Wow, that must be so interesting. I still can hardly picture having 300 birds but that must be because I'm an urban broad.
    I didn't find him, South1949 I just took his photo - it was at a pond where also many swan were, amongst other things. A lovely place, I would dare take any animal away from there since they seem so happy and free there
