Ok, oficially, all feathered hell broke loose at my place! Where do I start? Chon, the pidgeon with a broken wing also got brain damage from the crash (that broke his wing). The darned bird lets all the sparrows in town get into his cage and eat ALL his food, and he thinks it´s soooo much fun having me chase them off all day long. Then, around noon, he realizes he has no more food, so he starts cooing for me (yup... apparently I´m a big featherless chicken or something), so I´d feed him (again). He´s getting picky on the food too.
The lovebirds (Pericles and Aspacia): Aspacia layed 3 eggs and for the first week she didn´t give a darn about them, then I didn´t see her for about 3 weeks. Since I don´t know squat about parakeets, I started to suspect only then that it was taking a bit too long for the eggs to hatch. When I inspected them, the eggs didn´t have chicks inside and she totally freaked out when I threw them away (the stunk!!!). So I guess she just figured the first week she did enough of a job by just laying them. No need to sit on them at all... very bright.
The 4 doves started cooing, and I just figured I have 4 males and one female, so I have a regular feathered wrestling match in there all day long! It´s the FWWF I tell ya! I have to take turns separating them because 2 of the more dominant males are practically naked by now from all the plucking htey do to each other! I can´t wait til spring is over!
I wish I could just spay and neuter them all!{Feel-bad-00020080}
