    Parrot training tips

My parrot, Napoleon (mexican white forehead) has quite a bit of a temper. A person that used to work at our house until recently had him spoiled to death, and it was easier to make a rock understand anything, than make her. So now that she´s no loger at the house I decided to try to "civilize" my parrot.
I just found a series of videos that give some tips and that have been helpful. Today I stuck my hand into his cage and I still have all my fingers, so it´s good.
The first video and stuff I´m trying is:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkI9PvOsjS0
The second series of videos I found is:
    http://www.expertvillage.com/video-series/4706_train-parrot.htm

I´ve only tried the stuff on the youtube video for one day, and so far I can say that I do think like it´s gonna help, at least up to a point, with my parrot´s agression. I think I´ll add some of the tips from the second series too.
I´ve never had such an agressive parrot, but I´ve never gotten an adult parrot either (got him at age1 or 2) and always had raised them since they were chicks.

Just in case this helps anyone.

Rivera thank you very much for the tip. Do you have a photo of Napoleon? (I think it's the name that makes him aggressive :P )

    Sure... I´ll post it.
Today I tried some possitive reinforcement to get him out of his cage to trim his wings (which I´ve never done before out of fear of losing a digit) since that was adviced on the second video. It took a while but eventually he got out on his own. This allowed me to grab him with a towel, trim his wings a bit, and pet his beak (he doesn´t like his head scratched, just his beak). Then lots of praise and treats.
He does seem to be accepting my contact a bit more, though it´s only been a couple of days. I do hope in a month or so (I´m patient) I can get him to trust me to touch him without losing a digit. :P
    Here he is:

Or you can just got to my profile (Rivera) and see his picture.
    Hugs.

Ascetic feces! I´ve been working with Nap all morning. Just now I was able to stick my hand in his cage and he was relaxed enough to let me scratch his beak!!! No blood! No bruises!!! 10 digitis intact!!!:woohoo:
