strange behaviour in the canary cage!!
hi everyone.
i finally thought my canaries were on the right track to breeding but now i have found out there is a sabouter in the aviary. This one bird keeps going into my pair's nest and pushing the female out to try and sit on her eggs or take over the nest, im not sure:S The strange thing is the hen has sat on the eggs for over a week now, why start pushing her out half way through? Should i try and remove the bird. I have also had a look at the eggs but i cant tell if they are fertile or not cos i find it hard to see through the egg under the light. Any tips there?
Thank as always:kiss:

Fifi I think that perhaps it is better to separate the dominating bird for a while. There is no other method other than candling to see if eggs are fertile...
Btw: how are you doing? Everything OK? Long time, no hear...

yeah im good, its spring now in Australia. And alot of the birds are starting to think about mating. Ive been pretty busy with work and havn't had much time for the internet.
Altho all the boy canaries are singing now to attract mates which is pleasant to wake up to

Oh yes, that I can imagine. Must be very nice. Good to hear you're doing well
(and the birds as well)
