    Jenday conure laying eggs

Hi! I found an egg at the bottom of my bird's cage this morning!!
Imagine the shock when I thought it was a male bird:blink:
Anyway, I am wondering why it laid an egg, and if anyone knows if it will lay more eggs?? Any help will be much appreciated!

The egg was cracked and my bird has showed no interest in it. She has two cages, a big outside cage and a smaller cage inside that she sleeps in. The egg was laid in the smaller inside cage.

    What should I do?

Hi Sheri-Anne, welcome to the forum

Hmmm yes, it sometimes happens that he turns out to be a she :cheer: If the egg is cracked you better take it out and throw it away because I think it will become smelly if left inside the cage. Yes, you can expect more eggs as well since that's nature taking its course. Just add some more calcium to your conure's diet and she will be fine

    Hey Florence

Thank you so much for the advice!! I really appreciate it.
Just one more question. . . I move my bird to a bigger cage during the day and a smaller one at night, so should I move the eggs around with her?

Thanks again and enjoy your day

Hi I think the cage must be the same always. Moving the eggs is not good for her because to hatch eggs she needs to be quiet. Is she with a mate??
