Im a newbie with a conure question
Hello fellow bird lovers...
Im a newbie to the site. I came looking for some advice and help.
My husband and I got a jenday conure almost a year ago ( Jo ). A few month later we were talking about getting another. We knew the risks of getting another with them pairing off. So we were looking around for a companion for Jo. We went and visited one bird, and we had to rescue it. It was a sun conure. Wasn't exactly what we wanted but we couldn't leave it with the owner. The bird was on a poor diet, in a cage too small for it. It didn't have any tail feathers from breaking them off in the cage. Just a pathetic scene.
So we "rescue" who is now Skittles.
Take them both to the vet, give them a full work up. Also get them DNA tested. And to my husbands dismay they are both boys. I was relieved. I really didn't want baby birdies on my hands with a toddler too.
Now to my question. I found my one bird ( skittles ) "rearing up" to Jo. And Jo was all about it. Throwing his leg over the back side of Skittles, and well you can take it from there....
Has anyone else had 2 male birds going that ??
