Problem with recently homed hen fantail

    Hello,

I am hoping someone with experience of this problem can give me some much needed advice.
3 weeks ago I released a pair of fantails after homing them for 4 weeks. The cock immediately flew from the dovecote and is now mixing happily with the other doves from the cote. However, the hen has refused to leave the cote and is becoming more and more aggressive when I try to coax her out. This has led to her mate roosting in a spare compartment in the dovecote at night.

What can I do to get her out without causing her too much distress. Obviously I can't get both hands in to get a firm grip on her to pull her out.

Looking forward to some guidance on this.

    Hi Steve

I was wondering if you managed to sort your problem out as i have a similar problem with one of my doves and i'd be interested to find out how you dealt with it?

    Many thanks
