Help!
My boyfriend and I are in still in college and decided to get a pet that we could spend a lot of time with that will not bark. We thought we had a "brilliant" idea and thought we would try to get our new birds aquainted with his house. We took them into a room and thought we would let them fly around. We closed all windows but, because they were bought from a pet store (and I assume have never lived outside of a cage) they FREAKED! My green parakeet flew into the wall several times and then grabbed on to the ground in fear. I was mortified. THEN! My blue parakeet kept flying and flew into the wall very hard and cracked the area that seems to be her nose. We are not sure what to do as far as cutting wings or anything like that. We have tried to put our hands in the cage daily just so they will be use to our presence and that has been getting better.
We just want them to fly and feel comfortable like most of the things online say!
Any adivce?!? Towards ANY aspect of raising a bird!!!!
