    LOST PIGEON

I HAVE A PIGEON IN MY BACKYARD, THAT APPEARS TO HAVE WING DAMAGE. HE WANTS TO FLY IN MY GARAGE. I HAVE GIVEN HIM WATER AND HE HAS ALLOWED ME TO GET CLOSE ENOUGH TO SEE THAT HE HAS AN ORANGE FOOT BAND. IF I CAN GET CLOSE ENOUGH, TO READ THE #. HOW DO I FIND OUT WHO HE BELONGS TO? I DONT KNOW HOW TO CAPTURE HIM AND DON'T WANT TO HURT HIM.
    ANY HELP
    ALMENDEN, FROM ASTORIA

almenden, I don't know where you are living but there surely must be a local or national pigeon association there where all records are being kept? I think that's the best way to find out if you have chance of seeing the number. I would also contact your local ASPCA because to me it sounds like the pigeon needs medical care and they have methods of capturing animals without hurting them
