    Homing pigeon attack

Our homing pigeon was attacked by a hawk a few days ago. We thought he was dead when we saw all the feathers on the driveway. Later that day we saw him on our neighbors roof. On closer inspection he lost a lot of tail feathers His tail is V shaped now. He seems to be getting back to his old habits, but is there anything we can do medically to help him?

Make sure you check the bird over very carefully looking for wounds. If there are, the bird should be put on an antibiotic. Feathers will all grow back, but don't let him out until they do.
