    Love bird/ can't vet/ help please?

I have a 13 1/2 year old male Love bird. I can't afford to take him to a vet and don't know what is wrong with him.
    Things that are different:

    1. his chirping has gone down quite a bit from normal.
2 droppings are not grey and white like normal.
    3. the droppings are like still full seed.
    4. He has a rope swing in his cage that he has been chewing on and the chewing has left a creamy goow that he also has under his beck on his neck feathers.
    5. seems a little nasty when I put my hand in cage.

    Things that are fine:
    1. He is drinking and eating.
    2. he has been chirping.
    3. Eyes are clear.
    4. color is bright.
    5. No discharge from nasal.
    6. No poopy but.

Like I said I can't afford a vet I am very..very low income. He has never had a companion, I got him by himself and we talk to him and love him every day. He is in the center of our home so he is with us all the times so he never gets lonely.
I am very worried about him does anyone have any thing they might suggest.

    Re:Love bird/ can't vet/ help please?

The symptoms all lead to a couple SERUIOUS bird Illnesses PLEASE do NOT have this bird around any other birds
He could have Giardia whoch lovebirds do tend to get
or PDD beak and feather disease which is what I believe you are dealing with due to the stuff he is spitting up sounds like a crop infection
    http://www.avianweb.com/pdd.html

Personally I would call the local Avian Vet and ask if they will take him on If you can not care for the bird and he does test positive for PDD than in all honesty he should be put down.
There is No way you can responsibly rehome him or send him to a rescue as that could cause serious health issues with any birds that are already in that home or rescue and that would be really irresponsible.

Many shelters and humane Societies will help you with vet care. Also you can get Care Credit and than pay it off 10.00 a month

    This bird MUST BE SEEN!!!!!!!
Sorry but when you take on a pet we must make sure to think things through and be able to provide care when needed.
