We have recently adopted 8 exhibition fantail doves from a friend who has moved overseas. As we are no experts on these animals, we are very concerned that 2 of them seem to be losing the feathers on their heads. They are also pulling their heads much further back than normal. Is there any medication we can give them, and also can anyone give us some basic tips on their care. We currently have them in an old chicken run, which has a shelterd piece in which we have put nesting boxes as well as a large space for them to 'waddle' around - they do not do much flying. We were hoping to keep the birds outside in the day so they could fly freely , but people have said because they are not good fliers we should not let them roam freely. They also seem to like to stay in the darkness of the sheltered hok and do not spend much time in the sunny area.
