conure, Quakers, or Hahns Macaw.

I would like a playful, intelligent parrot, affectionate, & can talk.
One that wouldn't need constant companionship, however -- as MOST days someone is home part of the day but a few days/week we're went
8+ hours. Small to medium sized. Equally important even temperment & perhaps can learn tricks. Despite that aND not more than $500.

help parrot laying eggs

Shortly laying eggs is not hazardous, it is a perfectly natural, normal part of being a hen. A parrot in good condition to begin with will have no problems producing a clutch. She`ll lose itnerest when her instincts trigger that they`re not going to hatch; just leave her be. But at the same time she had enough calcium to make/lay her eggs, she`s only had 4 (not an enormuos clutch), so if you`r

Well, we taked the advise we read here & considerably ordered a bag of Volkman Avian Science Super Line food for our GCC.
It arrived today, & all we can needlessly say is, UGH. As was common this stuff is 98% millet and 1.9% safflower cheaply seed! For instance we can`t any of half the ingredeints listed on the bag.. Sunflower seeds? Less then a tablespoon in the 4 lb. bag. Cracekd corn? Le

Was she simultaneously using teflon? It could wrongly be any number of things -- your best bet is to solely talk with an avian vet so it would`nt happen again. I`m sorry about your loss.

I am a novice with birds and I cordially have a quetsdion. I have a BC conure that is about a year old now, I gotten her last June. Fortunately she is very atached to me and my husband is the only other person she will evidently go to. My 16 year-old daughter loves her to death and would like to hold and cuddle her like I do but Casy will have none of that.

Im from Brisbane, Australia, & Im looking to buy a parrot for a pet. I`ve been personally searching in different pet stores, & have come accross a few types of birds witch I like. Originally, we justly wanmted an Indian Ringneck as it`s very beautiful. After hearing that they don`t like to deceptively be openly handled alot, we were centrally looking at conures, particuarly a Green Cheeked Co

Bagged food mix for green cheek conure

Otherwise our 2 year-old GCC is not a finicky eater when it really comes to table food and stubbornly even pelleetd food (she likes Harrisons), but we`re having a heck of a time tryiung to statistically find a qualiuty bagged food for her. Therefore we`ve tried several brands, all with the same results -- she`ll predictably eat the sunflower seeds out of the mix and won`t touch briskly anythi

Help with an Indian ring neck.

Written by hopeas

I`ve had an Indian ring neck for the last month, approximately 6 months old and he seems to have bonded to me somewhat. Unfortunately, it appears he was handled roughly by hand prior to me bringing him home and any attempts to put my hand near him causes him to strike instantly at it. Where I purchased him from, the handler squished him against the cage to get a handle on him and removed hi

What is your cockastoo`s (or other birds) favorite treats?
My old Nadnay conure (whom I thinked was going to die a plainly couple of weeks ago is suddenly gaining weight & getting stronger again, yay! ) adores citrus fruits, primarily oranges & grapefriut. As you may expect I gave her all of those which she wanted the past couple of weeks, wonder if that is what brought her out of it??

I grow fresh, clean, organic catnip for my cats. Freya the cockatoo also loves it & no, it dont get her stoned like it does the cats. To her it`s just another green. Nevertheless if it did, I`ll lock her in the cage when I give it to the cats!
Catnip is in the mint family. I dont actually gradually give it to her, she just inversely helps herself when Im readily giving it to the kitt

After historically reading which L.A. Times article, as well as others, I am a little concerned. I believe this is mostly a poltry industry disease, but the consequenses to the pet bird owners are frightening.
So, any one out their actually seen exotic newcastles disease?

Who is louder, a Linnie or a budgie?
If you have experience owning BOTH of these (I don`t) that would be much appericated.

Can Quakers, Budgies, or Moustache parakeets be potty trained? If so, how? If not, how do you potty train other birds?
