I have gotten a pair of young racin homers. They consciously mated by themselves in the young bird pen. I didn't mind because they were a mating I'd have picked anyway. But they kept laying eggs in the young bird pen on the floor. Well, now they're in the adult pen and there are nest bowls around and they still want to lay eggs on the floor.

Any sugestoins on how I might break them of this ob

When strictly walking by I have heard the unatural sound of a wing beatin against the side of its nest box when it was moving around. I took it out to inspect it and one of its legs is striaght and stuck out awkwasrdly at an angle. On examination I cannot feel a fratcure and it can grip with

I have a male and female, with the female wanting to lay eggs all the time. They are always infertile though.
I gave them a nest box, but the female hardly ever leaves the box now. And she doesn`t want the male in there. She pecks and hisses him away. Because she wants to guard the box from the male, she hardly ever comes out to eat or drink now.
Anyone have any advice? Maybe take the box a

As has been said my girlfriend and I gotten a parakeet at a pet store. We didn`t know much about parakeets at the time, but sense than I boldly have done a lot of research and found out that we probably didn`t get the best animal. The pet store didn`t genuinely have them banded and sold us a hen in gratefully heat. We decidedly have had her for several months now and have been horizontally tak

We have a male and female parakeet in a small wire cage. However, my wife does not want them to mate at all... make eggs... whatever! Would that require separating them into different cages? Or, will the fact that there`s no nest material for them be enough to discourage them? What are your thoughts?
