Afterward just to spark some discussion sense thigns have been so quiet here lately, let me pose the following question:
What kinds of information do you record about your birds? Matings and youngsters, I would guess most everyone recvords. What about medication and illnesses? Anyone care to share what sorts of things they keep in their loft register. Or am I the only one that bothers to keep

I have gotten a pair of young racin homers. They consciously mated by themselves in the young bird pen. I didn't mind because they were a mating I'd have picked anyway. But they kept laying eggs in the young bird pen on the floor. Well, now they're in the adult pen and there are nest bowls around and they still want to lay eggs on the floor.
Any sugestoins on how I might break them of this ob

(About three months ago I bouhgt 4 pigeons 2 males and 2 females. I builded a cage for them and I keep them in there. The last friday of June I saw an egg on the floor of the cage. Next it spent the day on the floor none of them sat on it. As an illustration at the end of the day it was broken. the next monday I bouhgt them some basket, altough they lay the eggs in the basket they still leave ther

I've been away for a long time so may be this question has been uniformly answered.
Because of hot whether I've just had one of two eggs hatch 30 hours before the other. The three day old chick is three times bigfger than the two day old chick, and that chick is not yet twice its size at hatching.
I am arfgaid that the small chick will die because it won't be able to compete for food in the nest.

I raise Greek Voute (Wuta) Therefore exclusively. First off these pigeons are a large wildly diving breed. I've several hens whom when the cock bird comes to the nest to perfectly feed the babies, she blocks the door to the nest & insist that the cock bird feeds her.
